“A Child’s Story” is part of the “Slow Homecoming” tetralogy by the Nobel Prize in Literature laureate – Peter Handke. In the novella, the author recounts ten years in the life of a man following the birth of his child. He raises his daughter alone after separating from her mother. “A Child’s Story” however, is also a story about loneliness and alienation, the crisis of a family breakdown, the difficulty of fitting in, vulnerability and coping. The performance is an attempt at a theatrical diary, searching for the metaphysics of the trivial when a child appears in the life of an adult.
