When glass is broken, its shape becomes irregular and takes it one step back to nature, of which it is a copy. The soft branches and phalanges of the walnut branches imitate the lines of broken glass, or rather the reverse. When does the resemblance appear? The fake silk fire is a naive ancestor of the screen. In the zone of peripheral vision this partial sensory illusion works, despite its poignant deficiency.
